Full Description
You will be picked up from your hotel in Hurghada by your tour representative and taken to Luxor in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle to visit the famous Karnak Temple, the largest place of worship ever built.
Its ancient name, Ipet-Isut, means "Holy Place." The temple, or rather temple complex, was built over two thousand years ago by successive generations of pharaohs.
Within the complex lies the magnificent Hypostyle Hall, a breathtaking forest of colossal columns. You will enjoy lunch (optional) en route at a local restaurant in Luxor. Afterwards, you will visit the West Bank of the Nile to see the Colossi of Memnon (the statues of Amenhotep III). Then, you will visit the Valley of the Kings, where the magnificent tombs were discovered. Carved deep into the desert rock, these tombs are richly decorated and filled with treasures for the pharaohs' afterlife. You will visit three tombs. Later, you will visit the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, this impressive temple dedicated to Queen Hatshepsut, the only female pharaoh to rise from the desert plain in a series of terraces.
Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to enjoy some free time in Luxor, shopping at the original papyrus institutes and perfume palaces, before being returned to your hotel in Hurghada.
